Welcome to the Kingsdon Inn set in the picturesque sleepy
village of Kingsdon with fantastic views of the Mendips and situated within
easy reach
of the M5, 100 miles to London and 50 miles to Exeter on the A303. We pride
ourselves on traditional food, local
ales, fine wines and charming accommodation.
We
have a reputation for fine traditional food cooked
freshly to order by our chef of 19 years standing. People travel far and
wide to sample our menu and wine list and our bed and breakfast accommodation
featured in The Good Food and Michelin Guides is used regularly by holidaymakers
and people travelling through and around Somerset.
The Kingsdon Inn is a 300 year old thatched pub with original features including
original beams, fireplaces and a bread oven. It was originally a cider house
serving cider from the old front door. We carry on the tradition by serving cider
and draft beers mostly produced by local micro breweries from the area. We have
a delightful garden setting and welcome well behaved children and dogs.
We provide bed and breakfast accommodation,
with en suite facilities and serve traditional good food freshly prepared
from local produce and complimented by a wide range of wines and guest
ales.
Our Old Kitchen provides the ideal setting for private lunches or dinners
and this can be booked in advance for parties and club nights for up
to 16 people. We can offer a tailored menu to suit the event. The other
candlelit rooms with open fires in the winter provide an intimate atmosphere
for smaller parties without hindering the overall ambience of our pub.
We hold specialist food weeks i.e. a full range of fish and will provide
you with an excellent service to suit your needs.
